Sparkle clean in East London – show-home finish for handover - Cleaning East London

Sparkle Clean in East London (E)

The builders have gone, the snagging list is nearly done, and the place still isn’t ready to show anyone. Our sparkle clean is the final, detailed clean that takes a finished property from “the trades have left” to handover, sale or show-home standard. We cover new builds, refurbished flats, renovated houses and fitted-out commercial units across East London and the E postcodes. Send us the address, a few photos and your handover date, and we’ll come back with a clear quote.

What a sparkle clean covers

A sparkle clean is the last pass, done once the heavy work is over. It’s about detail: the fine dust, residue and smears that make a new space look unfinished under bright lighting or a buyer’s eye.

If the property still has rubble, offcuts, thick plaster dust on every surface or tools in the rooms, it needs a rougher clean first. Our after builders cleaning service handles that stage. The sparkle clean follows it.

Glazing, frames and fixtures

  • Windows and glazed doors cleaned inside, with frames, tracks and drainage channels cleared of dust and grit
  • Protective film residue and sticky label marks removed from glass, frames and appliances, using methods suited to each surface
  • Light paint and plaster spots lifted from glass where it’s safe to do so
  • Door handles, hinges, switch plates, sockets and radiator valves polished
  • Mirrors, shower screens and glass balustrades finished streak-free

Dust removal, top to bottom

Builders’ dust is very fine. It hangs in the air for hours after cutting and sanding, then settles on every horizontal surface, often more than once. One quick vacuum just moves it around.

We work from the top down: light fittings, tops of door frames, architraves, picture rails, then shelving, worktops, skirting and floors. We vacuum first, using equipment suited to fine dust, then damp-wipe so the dust comes away rather than spreading.

  • Inside and on top of all cupboards, wardrobes and drawers
  • Extractor grilles, vent covers and spotlight surrounds
  • Radiators, including the fins where we can reach them
  • Window sills, skirting boards and the tops of kitchen wall units

Kitchens and bathrooms

  • Appliance fronts, door seals and the inside of new ovens and fridges wiped out
  • Worktops cleaned according to the material: quartz, laminate, oiled timber and stone each need different handling
  • Sinks, taps and drainers polished
  • Sanitaryware, tiles and shower trays cleaned, with light grout haze lifted where the finish allows
  • Toilets cleaned inside and out, including the base and behind the pan

Floors

Hard floors are vacuumed and then cleaned with a method suited to the finish, from engineered oak to porcelain tile and vinyl. New carpets are vacuumed thoroughly, including edges, where dust gathers against the skirting.

What sits outside a standard sparkle clean

Some work needs separate agreement, a specialist, or a different trade altogether. We’ll tell you at the quoting stage rather than on the day.

  • External windows above ground floor. High-level external glazing needs the right access and is quoted separately. Our window cleaning team can advise.
  • Heavy cement, mortar or render on glass or stone. Light spots are part of the job. Thick deposits may need specialist products and a test patch, and some won’t come off without risk to the surface.
  • Scratches, etching and damaged finishes. Scratched glass, scuffed paintwork, stained grout and chipped tiles are snagging issues for the contractor. Cleaning can’t repair them.
  • Waste and debris removal. We’ll bag ordinary cleaning waste. Builders’ rubble, offcuts and packaging skips stay with the contractor.
  • Carpet extraction and upholstery cleaning. These are available as separate services if the carpets have taken a beating during the works.
  • Damp, mould from leaks and hazardous materials. We don’t treat structural damp, and we won’t disturb anything that could contain asbestos. Those need a qualified surveyor or contractor first.

How the sparkle clean works

  1. Send us the details. Tell us the property type, number of rooms, what work has been done and your deadline. Photos of the kitchen, bathrooms, glazing and floors help us quote accurately. Larger commercial units or developments may need a walkthrough.
  2. We agree the checklist and price. You’ll get a room-by-room scope and a price agreed upfront, with any extras listed separately. Our cleaning checklist shows the kind of detail we work to.
  3. Arrange access. We’ll agree keys, alarm codes, concierge bookings, lift access and parking before the day.
  4. We clean. Our vetted, insured cleaners bring the supplies and equipment, including tools for glazing and fine dust.
  5. Final check. Before we leave, we walk the property against the agreed checklist. If anything in scope has been missed, let us know promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how that works when you book.

What you’ll need to have ready

  • Running water, working electrics and lighting in every room
  • All trades finished, or at least out of the rooms we’re cleaning
  • Protective film removed from floors and worktops, or tell us if you’d like us to take it off
  • Any manufacturer care guides for stone, timber or specialist finishes

Timing your sparkle clean

Book it as the very last job before handover. If the decorator comes back for touch-ups or an electrician cuts in an extra socket after we’ve finished, fresh dust will settle and the finish will be lost.

Fine dust keeps falling for a day or two after sanding stops. Where the programme allows, leave a short gap between the final trade leaving and our visit. On tight handovers we’ll talk through the order of work so the most visible rooms are finished last.

The time needed depends on size and condition. A one-bedroom flat in a new block is a very different job from a four-storey Victorian terrace that’s been fully refurbished.

What changes the price

Every sparkle clean is quoted on the job in front of us. The main factors are:

  • Size and layout: rooms, floors, staircases and the amount of glazing
  • Condition: how much dust, residue and paint spotting is left after the builders
  • Surfaces: natural stone, polished plaster, high-gloss units and large glass panels take more care
  • Extras: carpet extraction, external windows, oven interiors on used appliances
  • Access: parking, lift availability, concierge rules, working hours on site and deadlines

See our pricing page for how we put quotes together. Quotes are free and there’s no obligation.

Working in new builds, refurbs and commercial units

Much of the new housing in East London is in managed blocks, with booked lift slots, concierge sign-in and loading bays that need arranging in advance. Tell us the building’s rules and we’ll work to them.

Parking can be the hardest part of a job here. Many streets across E are in controlled parking zones, so if there’s a bay, permit or visitor voucher available, let us know when you book.

For developers and agents preparing show homes or units for sale, we can work around viewings and photography slots. For homeowners moving back in after a renovation, we’ll clean rooms in the order you need them, starting with bedrooms or the kitchen if that’s what gets you home sooner.

Key handover is agreed in advance: collection from site managers, a lockbox, a neighbour or the concierge. Tell us about alarms, and about any rooms we shouldn’t enter.

Doing it properly on new finishes

New surfaces are often the most expensive in the building, and the easiest to mark.

  • We check suitability first. Acidic products can etch marble and limestone. Abrasive pads scratch high-gloss units and some glass coatings. We match the product and tool to the surface.
  • Test patches where there’s doubt. On polished plaster, unsealed stone or anything unusual, we test somewhere discreet before working on the whole area.
  • Blades only where safe. Scraping paint from glass is fine on standard float glass when it’s done correctly. On toughened or coated glass it can cause damage, so we use other methods or flag it.
  • Separate cloths for each area. Bathroom cloths never go near kitchen worktops.
  • Product instructions followed, with surfaces rinsed or wiped where needed so food areas and sinks are ready to use.

Eco-friendly products are available on request. We’ll check they suit each surface first.

What customers say

“We had a handover on a Friday and the decorator was still finishing on Wednesday. They came Thursday, and the difference on the glazing was huge. All the tape marks off the frames and no smears on the balcony doors.” Daniel O., Stratford, sparkle clean, new-build flat

“Kitchen extension finished and there was dust in every cupboard and on top of every door. Two of them did the whole house and wiped inside the new oven too. They told us about a bit of grout haze on the bathroom floor that needed the tiler, which was fair.” Hannah R., Walthamstow, sparkle clean after renovation

“Concierge booking, lift slot, keys from the site manager. All sorted without me chasing. The flat was ready for the photographer.” Femi A., Canary Wharf, show home standard clean

“Good, careful job on our limestone. They asked before using anything on it.” Claire T., Leytonstone, final builders clean

Sparkle clean FAQs

What’s the difference between an after builders clean and a sparkle clean?

An after builders clean removes the heavy dust and mess left by the works. A sparkle clean is the final detail clean for handover or presentation. Some properties need both, some only the sparkle clean if the contractor has already done a rough clean.

Can you remove paint splashes from windows?

Usually, yes, for light spots on standard glass. Heavy deposits, or paint on toughened and coated glass, need more care, and we’ll tell you if removal risks scratching.

Do you clean inside cupboards and appliances?

Yes. Inside cupboards, drawers, wardrobes and new appliances are included in a sparkle clean as standard, because that’s where builders’ dust collects.

How soon after the builders leave should I book?

Book for after the last trade has finished. A gap of a day or so lets airborne dust settle, so the finish lasts until handover.

Will the property pass the developer’s or buyer’s inspection?

We can’t guarantee an inspection outcome, but we work to an agreed checklist built around what inspectors and buyers look at. Damage and defects are separate snagging issues for the contractor.

Do you cover all of East London?

Yes, we cover homes and commercial units across the E postcodes. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.

Do I need to supply cleaning products?

No. We bring supplies and equipment unless we agree otherwise. Let us know about specialist finishes or preferred products in advance.
