How Our Cleaning Service Process Works in East London
Our cleaning service process in East London is simple: you tell us about the property, we agree exactly what’s being cleaned and what it costs, we turn up prepared, and we check the work against the agreed list before we leave. No surprises on the day, and no paying for a clean you didn’t need.
Here’s how it works step by step, from first message to aftercare.
The four steps at a glance
- Enquiry. You tell us the property, the job and your preferred dates.
- Scope and quote. We agree the task list and price before anything is booked.
- Access and cleaning. We confirm keys and arrival, then clean to the agreed checklist.
- Final check and feedback. We check our work, and you tell us if anything in scope needs another look.
Step 1: Tell us about the property and the job
The more we know at the start, the more accurate your quote. A two-bed flat in Bow that’s cleaned every fortnight needs a very different plan from a three-storey Victorian terrace in Walthamstow that’s just had a loft conversion.
Send us:
- Property type and size: bedrooms, bathrooms, floors, and whether there’s a garden room, utility or home office.
- The kind of clean: regular upkeep, a one-off deep clean, end of tenancy, after builders, or commercial.
- Condition: be honest. Six months of oven grease or limescale crusted on a shower screen takes longer than a light refresh, and we’d rather plan for it.
- Specific tasks: inside the fridge, inside kitchen cupboards, skirting boards, internal windows, oven, carpets.
- Preferred dates and times, plus any deadline such as an inventory check or a handover.
- Access details: who’ll be in, where keys are, parking, lifts.
- Photos: for one-off jobs, a few phone pictures of the kitchen, bathroom and any problem areas save a lot of back and forth.
Step 2: We agree the scope and quote before anything is booked
Quotes are free and no-obligation. We price on property size, condition, the tasks you want, how often we’re coming and how easy access is. The price is agreed upfront, together with a clear list of what’s included.
Getting the scope right matters because the three main kinds of clean are different jobs:
- Regular cleaning follows an agreed priorities list: kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, floors, dusting, bins. It keeps a home ticking over.
- Deep cleaning goes further: behind and under things, grout, door frames, light switches, the build-up a weekly visit doesn’t reach.
- End of tenancy cleaning works to a room-by-room checklist based on your inventory or the agent’s cleaning requirements. Cleaning can’t fix wear or damage, so we’ll tell you upfront if something is beyond what a clean can sort.
Oven interiors, carpet extraction, high-level work and external windows aren’t part of a routine visit. We quote them as extras so you can choose. For offices, shops and larger premises we may suggest a walkthrough first. You can see what affects cost on our pricing page.
Booking and confirmation: what we put in writing
Once you’re happy with the quote, we confirm the booking with:
- The date and arrival time or window
- The full address, including flat number and building name
- The agreed task list and any extras
- Access and key arrangements
- Products and equipment (we bring our own unless agreed otherwise)
- Notes on pets, allergies or delicate surfaces
- How to report anything missed, and the reporting window and re-clean eligibility for your job
If something changes before the day, such as the tenant moving out later or the builders overrunning, let us know as soon as you can and we’ll look at rescheduling.
Access requirements for cleaners in East London
Access is the thing most likely to cost time on the day, and East London has its quirks. We agree these details in advance:
- Keys: handed over in person, left with a neighbour or concierge, collected from your letting agent, or in a key safe. Tell us which and we’ll note it on the booking.
- Concierge and fobs: many of the newer blocks around Stratford, Canary Wharf and Royal Docks need cleaners registered at the front desk or a fob for the lift. Let building management know we’re coming.
- Parking: much of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham is in controlled parking zones. If you have a visitor permit or a bay, tell us. If not, we’ll plan around it, but it affects arrival.
- Lifts and stairs: a fourth-floor flat in Bethnal Green with no lift changes how we bring up equipment, especially for carpet machines.
- Alarms and gates: codes, side entrances, communal door buzzers that don’t work.
You don’t need to be home. Plenty of customers leave us to it and come back to a finished job.
What to expect on cleaning day
We arrive with supplies and equipment, check the agreed list, and start with a quick walk-round to confirm priorities and spot anything that looks different from the quote.
We work top to bottom and dry before wet. Dusting high shelves and light fittings comes before floors, so nothing lands on a surface we’ve just finished. Kitchens and bathrooms usually take the longest, because grease and limescale need product time to work rather than harder scrubbing.
After builders, fine plaster and sanding dust gets everywhere: door tops, inside sockets, on window tracks. One vacuum pass just moves it around, so it takes several rounds of vacuuming and wiping. If carpets are being cleaned, we’ll tell you roughly how long they need to dry before furniture goes back or anyone walks on them.
How to get the property ready
- Clear worktops and floors of clutter so we spend time cleaning, not tidying.
- Empty cupboards and the fridge if they’re on the list to clean inside.
- Put away valuables, paperwork and anything you’d rather we didn’t handle.
- Make sure hot water and electricity are on, which matters most at move-outs.
How we handle special requests
Tell us before the visit, not on the doorstep, and we’ll plan for it.
- Delicate surfaces: marble, natural stone, oiled oak worktops and unsealed tiles react badly to acidic or harsh products. We choose products to suit.
- Preferred products: if you have favourites, we can use them. Eco-friendly cleaning options are available on request, and we check each one suits the surface.
- Allergies and sensitivities: let us know about fragrance or product sensitivities in the household. We can’t promise to remove allergens, but we can choose products with care.
- Pets: tell us if a cat needs keeping in a room or a dog is home during the visit.
- Rooms or items to skip: a home office, a child’s room mid-project, an antique cabinet. Just say.
Quality checks before we leave
Before we finish, we go back through the agreed task list room by room. That means checking taps and screens for smears, wiping round light switches, making sure the hob and splashback are streak-free, and checking floors are dry and bins are out where agreed.
If something on the list couldn’t be done, such as a cupboard still full or a room locked, we’ll tell you rather than leave you to find out.
Aftercare, feedback and putting things right
If something in the agreed scope has been missed, contact us promptly with details and, ideally, a photo. We’ll arrange to put it right. Re-clean eligibility and the reporting window are confirmed when you book, so you know where you stand.
What a re-clean covers is the agreed list. It can’t remove permanent staining, fix worn carpet or repair damage, and no cleaner can guarantee a deposit return or an inventory pass. We’ll be straight with you about that from the first conversation.
We also want feedback when it goes well. It tells us what to keep doing on your next visit.
“Our check-out inventory was at 10am, so they cleaned the day before and left the keys with the agent. The oven and the bathroom grout came up properly and the clerk had very little to note.” Hannah R., Leyton · End of tenancy cleaning
“We gave them a list of priorities for the fortnightly clean, and they’ve stuck to it. They also remembered not to use bleach near the oak floor.” Tomasz W., Hackney · Regular cleaning
Commercial premises: working around your hours
For offices, shops, gyms and restaurants we schedule around your trading hours where we can: early mornings before a Shoreditch office opens, or evenings after a Whitechapel shop shuts. We’ll agree access and alarm procedures, who our contact is on site, and a checklist covering desks, kitchenettes, washrooms and entrance glass. Short-notice slots depend on availability.
Common questions about how it works
Do I need to be in when you clean? No. Many customers aren’t. We just need access arranged in advance.
How long will the clean take? It depends on size, condition and tasks. We’ll give you a realistic estimate with your quote.
Can I change the task list after booking? Yes. Tell us before the visit and we’ll update the scope and the price if needed.
What if you find more work than expected? We’ll talk to you before doing anything outside the agreed scope or price.
Do you clean across all E postcodes? We cover East London and the wider E area. Send your postcode and we’ll confirm.
