Service Coverage Areas in East London: Where Our Cleaners Work
Cleaning East London covers homes, rentals and workplaces across the E postcodes, from Whitechapel and Wapping out to Chingford, Wanstead and the Royal Docks. This page sets out our service coverage areas in East London, how to check your exact address, and what affects timing in your part of town. If you’d rather just ask, call 020 3947 0917 or email info@cleaning-east-london.co.uk with your postcode.
Which areas do our cleaners cover in East London?
We work across the E postcode districts and the neighbourhoods inside them. Here’s how they break down by borough, so you can find your patch quickly.
| Borough | Postcodes | Neighbourhoods we regularly clean in |
|---|---|---|
| Tower Hamlets | E1, E1W, E2 (part), E3, E14 | Whitechapel, Spitalfields, Stepney, Wapping, Shadwell, Bow, Mile End, Poplar, Limehouse, Canary Wharf, Isle of Dogs |
| Hackney | E2 (part), E5, E8, E9 | Bethnal Green borders, Haggerston, Dalston, Hackney Central, Clapton, Homerton, Hackney Wick |
| Newham | E6, E7, E12, E13, E15, E16, E20 | East Ham, Forest Gate, Manor Park, Plaistow, Stratford, Canning Town, Custom House, Royal Docks, East Village |
| Waltham Forest | E4, E10, E11 (part), E17 | Chingford, Leyton, Leytonstone, Walthamstow |
| Redbridge | E11 (part), E18 | Wanstead, South Woodford |
Borough lines don’t always follow postcodes neatly. E2 sits across Tower Hamlets and Hackney, and E11 splits between Waltham Forest and Redbridge. For booking purposes, the postcode is what matters, not the council.
How to check availability in your area
The quickest way is to send us your full postcode with a line about the job. We’ll confirm whether the address is in our coverage, which days we’re working nearby, and what the clean would involve.
When you get in touch, it helps to include:
- Your full postcode and property type, such as a two-bed flat in a Canary Wharf tower or a Victorian terrace in Walthamstow.
- The kind of clean: a weekly visit, a one-off deep clean, a move-out, or regular evening cleaning for an office.
- Preferred days and times, plus any dates that are fixed, like an inventory check or a handover.
- Access details: concierge, key safe, a neighbour holding keys, or a building that needs contractor details registered in advance.
- Photos for one-off jobs. A few shots of the kitchen, bathroom and any problem areas let us price accurately without guessing.
You can do all of this through our free quote form. We’ll agree the scope and price with you before anything is booked.
What changes the timing in different districts?
Lead times in East London depend far more on the type of job and the time of year than on which postcode you’re in. A regular fortnightly clean in Leyton and one in Limehouse are planned the same way. What shifts things is the diary.
End-of-tenancy dates fill fastest
The last few days of each month are the busiest for move-out cleans, because that’s when most tenancies end. Around Stratford, Bow, Mile End and Whitechapel, with high numbers of rented flats and student lets, those slots go early. If your tenancy ends on the 30th, book as soon as you have your moving date. Our end of tenancy cleaning works to an agreed room-by-room checklist, so we’ll also want the inventory or your agent’s cleaning requirements in advance.
Regular visits depend on route fit
For weekly or fortnightly cleaning, we try to keep the same cleaner on the same day. A new regular slot opens up most easily when it sits alongside homes we already visit nearby. If your first-choice day is full, we’ll tell you which days are free in your area rather than squeezing you in somewhere that doesn’t work long term.
Larger jobs need more planning
After-builders cleans, full-house deep cleans and carpet work take longer and sometimes need two cleaners or bulky equipment. Builders’ dust settles for a day or two after the trades leave, so it’s worth planning the clean once the last snagging is done, not the afternoon the plasterer packs up.
Can I get a same-day clean in my zone?
Sometimes, but we don’t promise it. Same-day and next-day slots come from cancellations or gaps in the day’s route, so they’re more likely when we’re already working nearby. If you need someone urgently, call 020 3947 0917 rather than emailing. We’ll tell you straight away whether we can help.
It’s worth asking for a short-notice clean in situations like these:
- A viewing has been moved forward and the flat needs a tidy-up and a bathroom clean.
- A guest arrives tomorrow and the oven or kitchen needs attention.
- A shop or office has had an unexpected mess and needs cleaning before opening.
Do you cover weekends and evenings?
Yes, depending on availability. Weekend slots are popular for homes, especially Saturday mornings, so they tend to book up ahead. For workplaces, we plan cleaning around your opening hours where we can. That might mean early mornings before staff arrive, evenings after close, or weekends for a deeper clean when the premises are empty.
Our office cleaning is often booked for the evenings around Canary Wharf, Shoreditch borders, Stratford and Aldgate, where desks are full in the day. Retail units on high streets like Walthamstow High Street or Green Street usually need cleaning before the shutters go up or after they come down. Tell us your hours and we’ll suggest a schedule that fits.
Is there an extra charge outside the main area?
We don’t add a standard out-of-area surcharge to our pricing. If your address sits on the edge of the E postcodes or just beyond, we’ll let you know when you enquire whether we can cover it and whether travel or parking affects the quote. You’ll know about it before you agree anything.
Parking is the cost people forget. Much of East London has controlled parking zones, and some streets near Bethnal Green, Dalston and Spitalfields have almost nothing free during the day. If you can offer a visitor permit, a driveway or a space in your building’s car park, tell us. For jobs that need bigger kit, such as carpet extraction machines, access to a service lift or a loading bay makes a real difference.
Local details we plan for
Each part of East London brings its own practicalities, and we’d rather know them before the day than find them on arrival.
- Canary Wharf, Isle of Dogs and the Royal Docks: many apartment blocks have a concierge and need cleaner details registered in advance. Keys are often left at the front desk.
- Walthamstow, Leyton and Forest Gate: lots of Victorian and Edwardian terraces with original tiles, sash windows and fireplaces. Tell us about delicate surfaces like encaustic hallway tiles or marble hearths so we use suitable products.
- Hackney Wick, Stratford and East Village: newer builds with large glass areas, open-plan kitchens and lots of fingerprints on balcony doors.
- Whitechapel, Spitalfields and Wapping: converted warehouses and period flats with exposed brick, wooden floors and steep stairs. We’ll check access for heavier equipment.
- Chingford, Wanstead and South Woodford: larger family homes with gardens, where muddy paw prints and conservatory glass come up often. Mention pets when you book.
We bring cleaning supplies and equipment unless we’ve agreed otherwise. Eco-friendly products are available on request, with suitability checked for each surface. Our cleaners are vetted and insured wherever they work.
Services available across our coverage
Most services are available in every district we cover, from regular home visits to commercial contracts. The main difference between areas is scheduling, not what we offer. You can see the full list on our cleaning services page, grouped into home, tenancy, specialist and commercial work.
A few quick pointers:
- Regular cleaning follows an agreed priorities list, so your cleaner knows what matters most in your home each visit.
- Oven interiors, carpet extraction, high-level work and external windows aren’t automatically part of a routine visit. They’re quoted separately.
- Commercial work often starts with a walkthrough so we can see the space, the footfall and any areas with specific needs.
What happens after you confirm your address
Once we’ve confirmed your address is in our coverage, we’ll:
- Agree the scope with you, room by room for one-off jobs or as a priorities list for regular visits.
- Confirm the price upfront, along with any extras, before work starts.
- Arrange access, key handling and arrival time in advance.
- Check the work against the agreed tasks before we leave.
If something in the agreed scope has been missed, contact us promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how that works when you book.
