Eco Friendly Cleaning in East London (E)
Some households want a clean home without a chemical smell afterwards. You might have a baby crawling on the kitchen floor, a dog that licks the skirting boards, or a nose that reacts to strong fragrance. Our eco friendly cleaning in East London uses gentler, low-fragrance products, washable microfibre cloths and refillable bottles. We cover homes, flats and offices across E postcodes. Call us or send a few details, and we’ll put together a free, no-obligation quote.
What an eco clean covers, room by room
An eco clean covers the same rooms as a standard visit. What changes is the product, the method and how much waste we leave behind.
Kitchens
- Worktops, splashbacks, cupboard fronts and handles
- Hob tops and the outside of appliances, including fingerprints on fridge doors
- Sink, taps and drainer, using a citric descaler where the finish allows
- Microwave, inside and out
- Floors swept and mopped
Bathrooms
- Limescale on taps, shower screens and showerheads. The hard water across East London builds it up quickly, so we apply an acid-based descaler to suitable surfaces and give it time to work instead of scrubbing harder.
- Toilets inside and out, including the base and behind the pan
- Tiles, grout lines, bath and basin
- Mirrors polished with water and a dry microfibre, so there’s no spray residue
Living rooms and bedrooms
- Damp dusting of shelves, skirting boards, door frames and light switches. Damp dusting picks dust up instead of sending it back into the air.
- Vacuuming carpets, rugs and the floor under furniture we can reach
- Mopping hard floors with a dilution suited to the floor type
Offices and workplaces
- Desks, phone handsets and shared touchpoints such as door handles and lift buttons
- Kitchenettes, fridge fronts and sinks
- Washrooms and soap dispensers
- Bins emptied, with recycling kept separate where your building has separate streams
Eco products work for a weekly domestic cleaning routine and for scheduled office cleaning. Regular visits follow an agreed priorities list. Deeper tasks such as oven interiors, inside empty cupboards, carpet extraction and external windows are quoted separately.
Green cleaning products we use, and what we leave out
We bring our own supplies unless you’d prefer us to use yours. Our standard eco kit includes:
- Plant-based, low-fragrance concentrates. We dilute them into labelled, refillable bottles, so there’s less plastic and no half-empty sprays left behind.
- Citric acid descaler for limescale on chrome, glass and ceramic.
- Bicarbonate of soda as a mild abrasive for sinks, hob rings and grubby grout.
- Fragrance-free options for anyone with allergies or sensitive skin.
- Microfibre cloths and mop heads, washed and reused rather than thrown away.
What we leave out by default: aerosol furniture polish, single-use wipes and bleach-based sprays on everyday surfaces.
A straight word on “non-toxic” cleaning: any product can irritate if it’s misused, including vinegar and bicarb. We follow the dilution rates on the label, keep products away from children and pets during the visit, and you’re welcome to read the labels before we start.
Allergy-friendly cleaning: tell us before we arrive
If someone in the house has asthma, eczema or a fragrance sensitivity, let us know when you book. We’ll then:
- Use fragrance-free products throughout
- Damp dust instead of dry dusting, so less dust ends up in the air
- Open windows while we work, if you’re happy for us to
- Avoid products near pet bowls, bedding and children’s toys, and leave food-prep surfaces rinsed
Less dust and less fragrance help many people feel more comfortable at home. No cleaning method can remove every allergen, though, so we won’t claim that it does.
Reusable cloths and low-waste methods
The cloth system matters as much as the product. We colour-code our microfibre: one colour for kitchens, one for bathrooms, one for toilets and one for general dusting. They never cross over, so the cloth that cleaned your toilet never touches your chopping board.
Every cloth is laundered after each job at the temperature on its label. We use concentrates to cut packaging. We also mop with a well-wrung head rather than a bucket of suds, which saves water and helps floors dry faster.
When eco products aren’t the right tool
We’ll always tell you if a gentler product isn’t going to do the job. Common examples:
- Baked-on oven carbon usually needs a dedicated oven clean. We’ll explain the options and quote it separately.
- Disinfection is different from cleaning. It needs a product with a stated contact time, used correctly. If you need that, ask about our disinfection cleaning.
- Mould that keeps coming back is a damp, leak or ventilation problem. We can clean the surface, but the cause needs a landlord, a builder or a surveyor.
- Damaged finishes can’t be cleaned back. This includes etched marble, worn bath enamel and permanently stained grout.
- Hazardous materials aren’t something we handle on a cleaning visit. That covers suspected asbestos, sharps and biohazards.
How booking an eco clean works
- Tell us about the job. Include the property type, rooms, priorities, pets, allergies and any delicate surfaces. Photos help with one-off cleans.
- We agree a checklist and quote. The scope, price and extras are agreed upfront, before any work starts.
- We sort out access. This covers keys, key safes, building fobs and concierge sign-in. Many streets in East London sit within controlled parking zones, so mention permits or visitor bays if you have them.
- We clean to the checklist. We bring the products and equipment.
- We check our work against the agreed tasks. If something in scope has been missed, contact us promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm re-clean eligibility when you book.
Before the visit, it helps if you clear worktops and floors where you can. We’ll handle the rest.
What changes the price of eco cleaning
The price depends on:
- Property size and number of bathrooms
- The current condition, such as a first clean after months without one
- The task list and any extras
- Visit frequency (weekly, fortnightly or one-off)
- Specialist methods or specific products you ask us to use
- Access, parking and building rules
Choosing eco products rarely changes the price much on its own. See our pricing page for how quotes are worked out.
Doing it properly on every surface
- We patch test anything unfamiliar first, especially oiled wood, unsealed tiles and painted cupboard doors.
- We never use acidic descalers or vinegar on marble, limestone or travertine, because they etch the stone.
- We never mix products, eco or otherwise.
- We rinse food-prep surfaces so they’re ready to use.
- We leave hard floors dry enough to walk on, or tell you which rooms to keep clear for a few minutes.
What customers across East London say
“I’ve got two cats and a toddler, so I was nervous about what goes on the floors. They talked me through the products beforehand, used fragrance-free everything, and the flat just smelled of nothing afterwards. That’s exactly what I wanted.” Hannah R., Walthamstow, eco domestic cleaning
“The shower screen hadn’t been clear in a year. It is now.” Dev P., Stratford, eco cleaning
“We switched our small office over to eco cleaning. They worked to our list, kept the recycling separate and left the kitchenette spotless before Monday. I left the keys with the café downstairs and it was all handled without any fuss.” Claire M., Shoreditch, eco office cleaning
“My son’s asthma flares with strong sprays. They damp dusted everything, opened the windows and told me honestly that the black mould by the bathroom window was a ventilation issue for my landlord, not just a cleaning job. Appreciated that.” Tomasz W., Leytonstone, allergy-friendly cleaning
Eco cleaning FAQs
Do you bring your own eco products?
Yes. We bring products, microfibre and equipment as standard. If you have products you’d rather we used, tell us when you book and we’ll check they suit your surfaces.
Is eco cleaning as effective as standard cleaning?
Usually, yes, for everyday dirt, grease and limescale. Heavy oven carbon or a disinfection requirement may need a different approach, and we’ll say so before we start.
Are your products safe for pets and children?
They’re chosen to be gentler, and we follow every label’s dilution and safety guidance. We keep pets and children out of the room while we’re working and let floors dry before they come back in.
Can you do eco cleaning in an office during working hours?
Often, yes. We use low-fragrance products and can schedule visits around your opening times. Early-morning or after-hours slots depend on availability.
Can I book an eco end-of-tenancy clean?
Yes. We work to a room-by-room checklist based on your inventory or the agent’s requirements. Cleaning can’t repair wear or damage, and no cleaner can guarantee your deposit back.
Do you cover all of East London?
We cover homes and businesses across E postcodes. Send us your postcode and we’ll confirm.
