Oven Cleaning Service in East London (E)

Baked-on grease, a grill that smokes every time you use it and a door you can’t see through anymore. Those are the usual reasons people book our oven cleaning service in East London. We take the oven apart as far as its design allows, degrease every part we can reach, and put it back together with clear glass and clean racks. We work in family homes, rentals and small business kitchens across E.

Send us a photo of your oven and hob, or give us a call, and we’ll come back with a quote before anything is booked.

What we clean inside a single or double oven

A proper deep clean covers much more than a wipe of the oven floor. On a standard single or double oven, the agreed checklist usually includes:

  • Interior walls, roof and floor, degreased and wiped back to the enamel
  • Door glass, inside and out. On many models we can separate the panes and clean the grease that builds up between them
  • Door seals and hinges, cleaned gently so the seal isn’t stretched or split
  • Fan cover, removed where the design allows, with the grease behind it cleaned
  • Racks, shelf runners, trays and grill pan, soaked and scrubbed off the oven
  • Grill compartment on double ovens, including the element surround
  • Control panel and knobs, cleaned without soaking the electrics
  • Outside of the oven, including the handle and the front edge where fingerprints collect

A double oven usually means two cavities, two sets of racks and often a separate grill. That roughly doubles the work, so tell us which type you have when you ask for a quote.

Hob cleaning and extractor cleaning

Most people book the oven and then realise the hob and extractor above it are just as greasy. We can add both to the same visit.

Hob cleaning

  • Gas hobs: we lift the pan supports, burner caps and spreaders, soak them, and clean the burner wells underneath. Burner holes are cleared carefully so the flame burns evenly afterwards.
  • Ceramic and induction hobs: we use a scraper made for glass hobs, plus a non-scratch cleaner, to lift burnt-on spills. Marks that have etched into the glass surface won’t come out, and we’ll tell you that up front.
  • Enamel and stainless steel tops: we degrease these and finish them along the grain so they don’t streak.

Extractor cleaning

We degrease the hood’s outer surfaces, the underside and the light covers. Metal mesh filters can be soaked and degreased. Charcoal filters can’t be cleaned and need replacing, so it’s worth having a spare ready if yours is due. We don’t dismantle ducting or the internal motor.

Oven tray and rack cleaning: why it takes the longest

Racks and trays hold the hardest grease in the kitchen, because they’ve been heated over and over. We take them out early and give them a long soak in a degreasing solution while we work on the oven cavity. Then we scrub them clean. Rushing this step is why some DIY attempts leave a sticky brown film behind.

Trays with flaking non-stick coatings or rust can be cleaned, but they can’t be restored. If a tray is past saving, we’ll say so rather than scrub it for an hour.

Non-caustic oven cleaning products and how we choose them

We use non-caustic degreasers for most of the work. They’re kinder on enamel, seals and your kitchen air, and they work well when they’re given enough time to sit on the grease. For heavy carbon build-up, we pick a stronger product suited to that surface and follow the manufacturer’s instructions exactly. If you’d rather we stayed with milder or eco-friendly products, say so when you book. We’ll check they suit your oven and tell you honestly if that will slow the job down.

Every surface gets rinsed and wiped out so no product is left behind. Your oven should be ready to use once it’s dry and cooled. Some people like to run it empty for a few minutes first, which does no harm.

Ovens and kitchens that need a different approach

Some appliances need separate agreement, and some problems can’t be fixed with cleaning:

  • Catalytic liners shouldn’t be scrubbed or treated with strong degreasers. We clean around them and leave the liner panels alone.
  • Pyrolytic (self-cleaning) ovens usually only need the ash wiped out and the door glass cleaned. We’ll adjust the checklist to suit.
  • Range cookers, AGAs and commercial ovens are quoted individually because of their size and construction.
  • Faults aren’t cleaning jobs. A broken door seal, a fan that won’t spin, cracked glass or a tripping element needs an appliance engineer.
  • Damaged enamel, rust spots and burns on worktops next to the hob will still be there after a clean.

How a visit works

  1. Tell us what you’ve got. Send the oven type, hob type and whether you want the extractor done. A couple of photos help us gauge how much build-up there is.
  2. We agree the checklist and the price. You’ll know exactly what’s included before we arrive.
  3. Get the kitchen ready. Switch the oven off well ahead so it’s fully cool when we arrive, and take out anything you keep stored inside it. If you can clear a little worktop space near the sink, that helps. Keep pets out of the kitchen while we’re working.
  4. Arrange access. If you’ll be at work, we’ll agree key collection or a key safe code in advance. That’s handy for tenancies and flats with entry systems.
  5. We clean. We bring our own products, protective sheeting for the floor and everything we need for the soak.
  6. Final check. We go back over the agreed list before we leave. If something in scope has been missed, contact us promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how that works when you book.

How long does oven cleaning take?

It’s usually a few hours, and the time depends mostly on the oven’s condition. A single oven that’s cleaned regularly is quicker than a double oven with a grill that hasn’t been touched in years. Adding the hob and extractor adds more time. When we quote, we’ll give you a realistic estimate so you can plan around it.

What changes the price

The things that affect your quote are:

  • Single, double or range oven, plus any separate grill
  • How much carbon and grease has built up
  • Whether the hob, extractor or microwave are added
  • Whether the door glass can be separated
  • Any product preferences that need more working time
  • Parking and access, which can matter on some East London streets with permit zones

Combined oven and kitchen clean

An oven clean pairs well with other work. Lots of tenants book it as part of an end of tenancy clean, because inventory clerks almost always check inside the oven. We’ll work to the agent’s cleaning requirements where you have them, but no cleaner can guarantee your deposit. Wear and damage aren’t something cleaning can fix.

If the rest of the kitchen also needs attention, such as greasy cupboard fronts, tiles behind the hob or a fridge that needs emptying and cleaning, our kitchen cleaning service can be booked on the same visit. Doing them together means the grease we lift off the oven doesn’t land on a worktop that’s already been cleaned. That’s how we handle kitchens across East London, from new-build flats to Victorian terraces with older cookers.

What customers say

“I’d been embarrassed by the oven for ages. The glass door had gone brown. Now I can actually see what’s cooking. They took the door panes apart, which I didn’t even know was possible.” Hannah R., Walthamstow

“Booked the oven and hob before our inventory check. I left the keys with a neighbour and everything was sorted when I got home. The gas burners look new.” Daniel O., Stratford

“I asked for non-caustic products because my son has asthma. They explained beforehand that it might take a bit longer, and it did, but the result was great.” Fatima K., Forest Gate

“Double oven plus extractor. The filters were disgusting and came back clean. Also good to be told the charcoal one just needed replacing.” Tom B., Bow

Oven cleaning FAQs

Do I need to be home during the clean? No. Lots of customers in East London leave a key or a key safe code with us. We’ll agree access and lock-up arrangements beforehand.

Can I use the oven straight afterwards? Usually, yes. Once it’s dry and any parts are back in place, it’s ready to use. Some people prefer to run it empty for a few minutes first.

Do you use caustic chemicals? Mostly no. We use non-caustic degreasers for most jobs and only use stronger products where the build-up calls for it and the surface can take it. Tell us if you’d like us to avoid them completely.

Will every stain come out? Not always. Grease and carbon usually lift well. But scorching, etched glass and damaged enamel are permanent marks, so we’ll point those out if we see them.

Do you clean microwaves and grills too? Yes. Separate grills are part of a double oven clean. Microwaves can be added to the list if you ask.

Do you cover the whole of the E area? Yes. We provide cleaning services across E postcodes. Let us know your postcode and the kind of property, and we’ll confirm availability.

Can you clean the oven in a café or office kitchen? Often, yes. We’ll schedule it around when you’re open, and larger commercial ovens are quoted separately.
